Do you install water softeners outside Dorchester?
Yes. Dorset Water Centre is based in Broadmayne, near Dorchester, and we install water softeners across all of Dorset and parts of South Somerset. Use our postcode checker to see which service zone your property falls into.
Do you deliver water-softener salt to my area?
We deliver water-softener salt across our regular service zones, that's anywhere within forty miles of our office. Delivery costs and free-delivery thresholds depend on your zone, which is calculated by the distance to our Broadmayne office as the crow flies. All our salt is delivered in our own vans, typically on Mondays and Wednesdays. You can order salt from us using our shop page, or by giving us a call on 01305 265548.
How much does a water-softener call-out cost?
Call-outs, regardless of whether its a water-softener that's gone wrong or a water filtration system, are charged depending on your service zone. The postcode checker and price table on this page show the current call-out charge for each zone. Prices all include VAT.
What is included in a call-out?
A call-out covers the first hour of labour. During this time, we diagnose and attempt to fix any faults with your machine. Occasionally, an additional part will need to be ordered in order to complete the work, where we will attempt to return to you as soon as that part arrives. Additional parts are not included in the call-out price.
Can you service a water softener you did not install?
In many cases, yes. Dorset Water Centre services and repairs a range of domestic and commercial water softeners. Contact us with the make and model of your softener and we will let you know how we can help.
Do you offer filter changes in my area?
Yes, we provide drinking-water filter changes across our service zones. The filter change price depends on your zone and includes VAT. Use the postcode checker above to find the current charge for your area. Alternatively, you can have replacement filters delivered to you, collected from our office in Broadmayne, so that you may fit them yourself. Filter change prices do not include the price of the filter itself. You can find our range of replacement filters on our shop.
What happens if I am outside the listed zones?
If your postcode falls outside our standard service zones, please contact us directly. We may be able to help still. If you are a business our commercial range extends all the way to South Wales.
Why are your prices different in each zone?
Our zones are based on the distance from our Broadmayne office. Places further away take longer to travel to, and require more fuel, so call-out charges, filter-change charges and delivery thresholds vary by zone.
